A lot of this stuff is just annoying or ugly, which is fine! What's unforgivable is how bad search is, especially considering Gmail is run by ... check notes ... the largest search company in the world?
I can search something like "banana" and get thousands of emails, seemingly at random, a significant portion of which have to reference to bananas.
And with all these buttons, you would think they'd have a "filter unread emails" prominent. They taunt you with the unread count e.g. Inbox (4) but make it impossible to find those 4 damn emails.
